Layers of Nostalgia - "Scherzo" n.2

The Scherzo tiny pendants are named after the western classical music term for a small, joyful part of a larger work. Like it, they are both a lighthearted, smily interlude among the more structured pendants of the Layers of Nostalgia collection. 

Scherzo 2 is a playful, almost-square small pendant, the only one inspired by an Australian landscape. Part of our family lives there, and they sent us a picture of the lake when we were first working on the collection.
Even if the collection is mainly focused on Italian landscapes, we decided to include this small landscape for its similar sweet and sour feeling of longing. The desire for something or someone that is far, that you miss, that you love and long to see.

The pendant is imperfectly shaped like a child's drawing, with a miniature reproduction of the Warragamba Dam Lake in New South Wales, made from layers of silver, oxidized silver and copper, with a small handle and a thin, brown cord to hold it. The cord is in. 15.7 (cm.40), but we can make it the length you like.

We made Scherzo 2 in October 2021 when we started again to work on the collection, but it is too small to imprint the date on its back so we will add a small card to its box. 

We use recycled silver as much as we can, to reduce the environmental impact of our work and for ethical reasons. Recycled silver has the same characteristics and value of mined silver, but it is obtained from old jewelry or silverware. From our personal perspective, it adds value to the jewelry we create.

Important: you may polish the piece with a conventional silverware cloth, avoiding the darker areas
